Lufthansa operates a small, dwindling fleet of Airbus A340-600s, known as "the flying pencil" due to its11-meter-stretched, 75.3-meter length, with plans to retire them by mid-2026. These four-engine, 297-seat aircraft feature a unique underground lavatory design and a premium-heavy layout (First, Business, Premium Economy). They are currently used for long-haul routes from Frankfurt to cities like Boston and Washington
Capacity: Typically configured for 281-297 passengers, featuring 8 First Class, 56/44 Business, 28/32 Premium Economy, and 189/213 Economy seats.
